Description
Navel orange is a type of orange imported directly from the state of New South Wales in the city of Hanwood in Australia, one of the three regions with the largest orange growing area in Australia.
The name "Navel" is given to this type of orange because the bottom of the fruit resembles a "belly button."
Characteristics of Navel oranges (Yellow-fleshed oranges):
- This type of orange is characterized by a small stalk that looks like a navel – this is a feature that makes it easy for consumers to identify.
- Yellow flesh oranges are iridescent yellow, seedless, and have a natural sweetness with a slight acidity that creates the perfect balance.
- They have a characteristic aroma and a high juiciness.
Nutrient contents:
Yellow flesh oranges are rich in vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants, which contribute to boosting immune system health and improving overall health.
The low-calorie content of Navel oranges makes them a healthy, fiber-rich diet food. Additionally, the fiber in oranges can help lower blood sugar levels in people with type 1 diabetes and improve blood sugar, fat, and insulin levels in people with type 2 diabetes.
Storage instructions:
The oranges can be stored at room temperature or in the refrigerator. If stored in the refrigerator, the most appropriate temperature is from 7 degrees Celsius to 10 degrees Celsius.
For both storage methods, oranges will usually last for about 2 weeks, and are retained almost the same amount of vitamins.
